About a year and a half ago I started a home business. I was so excited, because I knew it was really going to supplement my fixed income!
I'd like to share with you my experience and how I finally (after one and a half years!) found out what I was doing wrong.
I was taught the "old school" way and it wasn't working! The following scenario is exactly what happened to me. If this is what you are going through, you don't have to! Read on...
When you start a home business, you are filled with such great expectations. You probably did some research on the product(s), and thought, "This is what people will want and/or need!"
So, you put your head down and your best foot forward and start on your list of family and friends. Some are sort of interested, but not sure. Some think it's probably a scam. Others think it's too expensive and, of course, there are those that don't even want to hear about it.
You might end up with one or two, or even three that have signed up, and you think, "That's not too bad." Then you really try to turn the heat up! You start to approach anyone who will listen to you about your amazing product(s), only to find out that it's not an easy way to build your business.
Let's face it, you need a down line in order to make your business work! AND to start making some money! You go to your up line regarding the problems you are having and they tell you to keep trying and work at it harder.
You are told to buy more marketing material to hand out. You are told to go to all the meetings, even if you have to travel across the country! That could be helpful, interesting and fun, but how do you do that when you're hardly making any extra money? The last I heard, marketing material and traveling DOES cost money!
Is this sounding all too familiar?
Then, one day you find that someone in your down line has dropped out! And, over the next few months, all of your down line, one by one, have dropped out!
Hey, this wasn't supposed to happen! They were your team! But, you know what? They really weren't serious about working as a team and going out and signing up others to be on the team. The keyword here is SERIOUS!
You need people who are really serious about joining your business and who want to be part of your team who want to work together to make the business succeed and reap the rewards!
Are there people out there who are looking - waiting - for someone like you to come along and sign them up? Yes, and wouldn't that be great? Well, for some it is great, and they are the ones who have figured it out!
Arlene is a consultant and will share information to help people who are building a home business. She needed help and now would like to pay it forward.
